Should I Plead Guilty or Not Guilty?

Trials – Not Guilty Pleas


Our fees vary based on the complexity, charges, required experts, and the length of your case. Typical fees for Magistrates Court trials are:

  • £5,000 – £7,000 + VAT



Guilty Pleas


This service includes an in-depth consultation to gather detailed instructions regarding the offence and mitigation, guidance on character statements, and continuous support throughout the case. It covers communication with the police, CPS, or Court where appropriate, advice on sentencing prospects, and preparation for what to expect at Court. 

  • Single Hearing: £1650 + VAT (any additional hearings charged at £750 plus VAT) provided the case is not complex

Exceptional Hardship Applications


We can guide you in preparing compelling evidence to support an exceptional hardship application, ensuring the strongest case possible. 

  • Single Hearing: £1800 + VAT (any additional hearings charged at £750 plus VAT)

Special Circumstances and Applications


  • Arguing Special Reasons (to avoid penalty points/disqualification): £2,500 + VAT.
  • Early Removal of Disqualification Application: £1,500 + VAT.

Crown Court Cases


Not Guilty Pleas


  • Fees begin at £5,000 + VAT, covering preparation, expert instructions, defence drafting, and attending the first day of trial. Additional trial days: charged separately.

Guilty Pleas


  • £2,000 + VAT per hearing.

Costs for Pre-charge advice


We understand that where you are under suspicion of an offence or are being investigated by the police it a be a worrying time and it is often best to be pragmatic and do everything that can be done to prevent a charge from being brought by the police.  For this reason, we offer a service where we can assist in putting together evidence along with written submissions to the police to avoid charges altogether. 

If being interviewed we can also attend the police station with you to ensure you receive the correct specialist advice at the earliest stage. 


Charge Advice


  • Police Station Attendance: £1,000 + VAT.
  • Written Submissions Pre-Charge: £750 + VAT.
